Executive Director's Welcome

Executive Director
Welcome to the online home of Concho Valley Community Action Agency.  I am glad you are here, exploring more about who CVCAA is and what we offer. Whether you found us because you need assistance, or maybe you’re looking deeper at us because you want to help fund some of our programs, what you’ll find on our website is a sampling of the impact we have in our part of Texas.

CVCAA has been serving the Concho Valley since 1966 as part of the nationwide community action movement.  We hold dear the ideals that President Lyndon B. Johnson presented in the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 which created community action.  We strive to embody the Promise of Community Action daily:

Community Action changes people’s lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities, and makes America a better place to live.  We care about the entire community, and we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other.

To me, the Promise of Community Action is a powerful statement that guides our agency's work in our counties and communities.  We care about everyone, and we know that by helping people the entire community is lifted.  As Executive Director, it is my honor and responsibility to make sure our team is doing everything possible to help those in need, and our team daily rises to the challenge.  Just as those who sat in my chair before me did, I feel dedicated to working with leaders and partner agencies to continue to shape CVCAA into one of the best agencies in the Concho Valley…ready to lend a hand when asked, ready to continually meet the needs to low-income families and individuals.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you’ll check back on us often as we are continually adapting and growing programs to meet the needs of our communities.

For everyone born,
Mike Burnett
