Weatherization

Weatherization is a free program that comes from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and works to reduce energy costs for low-income households by installing numerous energy-saving measures. Weatherization improvements save households an average of $372 on their energy bills while also improving the air quality and livability of the home.

This program doesn't cost you a cent and is available to homeowners and renters. For rental properties, please have your landlord fill out the Landlord Permission Form and turn it in with your application.

To receive Weatherization Assistance, please apply with the required documents on the front of the application, the previous six months of electric bills or energy usage, and a Landlord Permission form if applicable.

CVCAA home weatherization may include:

  • Insulation in the floors, walls, and attic
  • Caulking
  • Air sealing
  • Weather stripping
This program does NOT cover Window or Door replacement.

PLEASE NOTE:  Weatherization operates on a priority basis depending on need and location. Your application is valid for 12 months from the date of signature
